Special Information
- This position is a hybrid position which allows the incumbent to complete their work at both an NAU site, campus, or facility and at a non-centralized site with or without accommodation.
- Driving a vehicle on behalf of the university is anticipated to be a regular part of this position. Arizona Administrative Code Fleet Safety Policy requires all employees who drive on university business become authorized by submitting Driver's license information for driving record monitoring, and completion of training appropriate to the level of driving performed. The law applies to all faculty, staff, and students who drive personal or university-owned motorized vehicles for any business purpose. - Frequent travel is essential for this position.

Strategic Enrollment and Marketing Enrollment Management(SEM) provides helpful services to students on campus in Flagstaff, at any of our statewide campuses, and those pursuing degrees online.
About the Position
The University Admissions office is a dynamic environment which requires dedicated professionals to engage, excite, and enroll qualified undergraduate transfer and graduate students to Northern Arizona University to help meet enrollment goals. The Student Recruitment Coordinator, Sr (SRC, Sr.) for Transfer and Graduate Recruitment is intended for seasoned admissions professionals who have exposure to an admissions setting for at least three years.
The Student Recruitment Coordinator, Sr. will work to apply the university's recruitment strategies to identify, recruit, and enroll qualified graduate students across all education delivery modalities (e.g. Flagstaff, Community Campuses, and Online). The Student Recruitment Coordinator, Sr. will also work to apply the university's recruitment strategies to identify, recruit, and enroll qualified transfer students across Flagstaff Mountain campus modality from the assigned territory (WUE, and/or non-resident). The person hired must demonstrate a strong commitment to the values of student service, integrity, student success, diversity, and engagement. Cross-cultural competence and experience within a multi-cultural, collegiate environment is
sought.
Responsibilities Include
Recruitment - 40%
- Recruits undergraduate transfer students (40%) interested in NAU's additional education modalities. Includes attending recruitment events, providing admissions presentations (both virtual and in person), connecting with students via email, phone call, 1:1 meetings, submitting necessary action items within Salesforce or PeopleSoft for student admission questions or hurdles, etc.
- Recruits graduate students (60%) interested in NAU's additional education modalities. Including providing information sessions, staying up to date on graduate program offerings and requirements, attending university graduate school fairs assigned by department leadership, connecting students with necessary point of contact for program specifications when necessary, etc.
- Manages assigned territory by staying abreast of current events related to transfer or graduates students in Arizona, the West, and nationwide, and issues that may impact that student population.
- Coordinates, implements, and participates in visits to community colleges, other universities, and other university sponsored and/or approved recruitment events.
- Stays apprised of, and current on, new enrollment management strategies, and best practices for communication to prospective students, and other important constituents to meet University enrollment goals. Stays current on local, regional, and national trends pertaining to area of assignment and recruitment territories.
- Completes reports related to recruitment, enrollment projections, stays on top of personal schedule, travel planning and implementation, special programs, and professional development.
- Assists with the execution of on-campus and virtual visit programs as needed, including but not limited to Transfer Visit Days and Transfer Virtual Fridays, Graduate Information Sessions, Discover NAU, #NAUSaidYes Day, Multicultural Recruitment Programs, and other recruitment programs.
- Helps the University Admissions Leadership Team in the management of the recruitment areas of the office. Provides presentations to a multitude of individuals and groups to communicate the vision, mission, values, and programs of the University.
- Serves and informs Enrollment Management and University Admissions Leadership Team within the University Admissions office by participating in strategic recruitment planning and staffing decisions.
- Collects and analyzes data to determine the effectiveness of transfer and graduate recruitment strategies in their respective recruitment territories. This will include reports through Business Objects, Enterprise Reporting, PeopleSoft, and Salesforce.
Travel - 20%
- Work some evenings and weekends, significant travel with 4-8 weeks in the fall semester and 4-5 weeks in the spring semester.
- Planning and executing details of recruitment travel booking hotels, flights, rental cars, keeping track of M&IE, etc. following policies and guidelines related to travel planning upheld by NAU and the state of Arizona.
- Work closely and collaboratively with community college counselors, universities, transfer organizations, interested students, and their support systems.
- Participates in trainings periodically on-campus in Flagstaff and throughout the state, as well as via web and/or phone.
Consultation and Communication - 20%
- Provides presentations to both prospective transfer and graduate students and their guests, at on- campus, off-campus, and virtual events
- Advises prospective transfer and graduate students as well as their support systems on admission requirements, transfer of credit, financial aid and scholarship information, as well as various student support services on campus regarding educational opportunities and options
- Advises prospective post-baccalaureate (Flagstaff Mountain), non-degree seeking (Flagstaff Mountain), on admissions processes, connecting to respective departments where appropriate.
Program Strategy and Management - 15%
- Develops, implements, and maintains key University Admissions programs to help facilitate the recruitment of qualified transfer and graduate students. Includes collaboration with other Enrollment Management and University staff including, but not limited to the Student Service Center, Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, and/or other Arizona Board of Regents partners (i.e. sister institutions).
- Interacts and maintains excellent working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and outside/community agencies in facilitating University Admissions and Enrollment Management program objectives.
- Represents the University, its mission, policies, and procedures to a broad range of constituents, in particular, those in other segments of the education community, prospective transfer and graduate students and families, personnel in community colleges, community-based organizations, businesses, etc.
- Develops and implements programming to meet the needs of transfer and graduate prospective students and other constituent groups to the University (i.e. contemporary students/adult learners, honors students, students from ethnically and culturally diverse backgrounds, transfer students, first- generation students, etc.).
- Serves as a liaison to academic colleges and departments and collects important information and updates from our academic departments. Develops and maintains strong working relationships with academic partners.
Other - 5%
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate bachelor's degree.
- 3 years of relevant experience.
- Current and unrestricted Driver License needed to attend off site recruitment events.
*A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
- A master's degree with preference given to student personnel, student affairs, education, business, or related field AND
- At least one year of progressively responsible administrative and/or supervisory experience (with preference given to directly related admissions/enrollment management experience).
- Direct customer service experience.

Knowledge
- Knowledge of NAU academic programs and student support services.
- Knowledge of marketing communications tools, including the use of digital marketing.
- Knowledge of government rules, regulations, guidelines and procedures related to financial aid.
Skills
- Skill in prioritizing and completing multiple tasks of varying complexity and urgency in a timely and efficient manner.
- Familiar with a performance-driven environment that utilizes metrics and measurements.
- Customer service skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Abilities
- Ability and willingness to travel both in and out of Arizona, drive and possibly fly extended distances and work a varied schedule, which may include nights and weekends.

Compensation
Salary range is $45,000 - $48,000. Annual salary commensurate with candidate's qualifications and related experience.
Pre-Employment Check
Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, an employment history verification and a degree verification (in some cases) prior to employment. You may also be required to complete a fingerprint background check. Also, as an employer in the state of Arizona, NAU is required to participate in the federal E-Verify program that assists employers with verifying new employees' right to work in the United States.

Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting. Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire and Security Report
Each year Northern Arizona University releases an Annual Security Report. The report is a result of a federal law known as the Clery Act. The report includes Clery reportable crime statistics for the three most recent completed calendar years and discloses procedures, practices and programs NAU uses to keep students and employees safe including how to report crimes or other emergencies occurring on campus. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities.
